Hi

i've had this for years (got it second hand) and from what i can recall, it started acting strange in that, when it should have been still it would start jerking back and forth...
it has an electronic speed controller fitted and from memory, it had to be 'trimmed' using a small screwdriver but i can't remember whether it worked with trimming it or notconfused

s'ppose i ought to dig it out and see if the battery will still hold charge!

are these oldies any good (i was told they were good little motors ages ago!), i rmember it went like stink and was hard to avoid hitting obsticleslaugh

Can anyone help with the jerky problem please??

Johnsmile

PS, sorry for the rubbish pics frown

Trimming the ESC should sort it, are there any LEDs on the thing? Is it forward and reverse or forward and brake?

Nice gold tops on the front, proper Tamiya Hop-Up if I remember.

I thought original Top Forces were very collectable.
If you are going to use it though, dont um and ah just buy a new battery, motor and ESC and stick a 2.4Ghz radio in it. You will enjoy using it so much more with no interference, longer runtimes and faster too.

Is it one of the old potentiometer speed controllers on that, (the old school copper arc with pick up and servo guided arm? As if it is you are probably better off upgrading to modern stuff that is more weather resistant and gived more play time.

Hi

the speed controller is a Nosram Tomahawk, no led's and (i think) no brake..
it has a trimmer for neutral and another (which can't be seen in the pic) for speed...

When i acquire this, i also was given a bag full of parts/broken or stripped cars...

one of the chassis..

i have another full car somewhere with a wedge shaped orange body but i haven't seen it in years (probably in the loft!)

Nice bundle of cars and bits there.
I'd be stripping them all down cleaning them and ordering more parts than I should to build them up again.
