Another HID Question
Discussion
This may have already been answered previously but wondered if anyone can help.
Finally got round to fitting my HIDs yesterday and have now realised that i only have light coming out of half of the round orignal style light and the line of light is going from 2 o clock to 8 o clock.
I have also noticed that i only now have sidelights at the rear.
Have i done something wrong, could i have snipped the wrong black and red lead in the light relay box in the boot?

Do you have H4 lights? The 'MG' style?
What sort of HIDs did you fit? Bi-Xenon ?
The wire snipping suggestion came from a 'tuscan' lights owner and so I am not sure it is the same or needed for earlier cars (but I have no idea!).
If you have fitted Bi-Xenon then they will have some form of shroud on the bulb to switch from dipped to main beam. I guess if you have somehow fitted the bulbs wrong then this shroud will throw the shadow in the wrong place?
Edited to add:-
On the older lights isnt the sidelight a separate small bulb in the main lens? If so maybe youhave snipped wires to this?

New HID lights are definately working. I have the HIDS4U kit.
When i attached the new bulb should i have removed the whole casing. I noticed that you can take the entire casing off or you can just take off the cap at the top of the casing.
Dipped light is working on the left light if sat in car but not the right.

You dont remove any kind of 'casing'. Simply fit the big new HID Unit into the lamp bulb holder, in the same way that the original H4 bulb fitted.and connect the wires from the Ballast unit.

Does your kit come with a manual in line rocker switch? The newer kits dont have one, but if it does, click it into the same position as the working unit.
Check all the connections are correct as per the above diagram.
