I feel like I need a bit of a cheering-up at the moment, so being the materialistic kind of person that I am, I want to treat myself to something.

Admittedly last time this happened I ended up buying myself another car, so I might have to cap my budget at about £100.

All ideas considered!

Fire away...biggrin

admittedly edited for spelling(!)

Learn something new. Materialism is a temporary fix.

£100 worth of petrol and go for a drive to somewhere remote with empty roads, stop in for a pub lunch and if viable stay over somewhere and have just enough drink to give you that warm glow, do not get pissed, if you can take in a walk on a beach too, just bring a good jacket biggrin

Hope this helps.

You bring up a good point. But I'm very impatient.

Go to your nearest friendly airfield.... pay them some money and go for a trial flight in a plane/helicopter.... That will cost you less than £100.... the addiction which follows will ruin you!!

Just consider the futility of life, the meaninglessness of existence and relentless inevitability of your own doom.

Feel any better?

Thankfully people have started to realise that it's just not funny any more.

That's good suggestion.
I looked into it too, but found days/times a bit restrictive, plus free miles mileage allowance a tad on the low side.
Need to up the budget a bit too.

Darnit I got all excited at the thought of hooning around the Cotswolds for the day in something like that. That would definitely put a smile on my face.

Doesn't look like it'll be on budget though... frown

+1

Did exactly that on New Years Eve. Drove to Aberystwyth, where I went to Uni about 10 years ago. It was freezing but I had the top down and there are some great roads. Got there and had a nice walk along the beach, looked round and soaked up some memories - had a bit of lunch and headed back. Blew away the cobwebs, a brilliant drive - and time to collect my thoughts.

£150 for 120 miles on a week day from http://www.roadsporthire.com/Rates.html

Although if I get one for my mates wedding which I'd want for the weekend it would £400
