I've tried giving it to charity, selling it to Cash Converters etc and short of popping it all in my wheelie bin, what can I do with it.

Its a 2004 Evesham Tech Evolution Blue Lightning. (Gaming PC)

Intel P4 2.8Ghz with 800Mhz FSB + HTT

1GB DDR Ram

2 x good drives

Radeon 9600 graphics card

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card

Good 21" flat screen, wireless keyboard, mouse etc etc.

Seems crazy to just bin it all, isn't there anyone who can use it?

Bung it on your local freecycle list. Someone will take it (I'd have it myself if you were local).

Sell it in parts rather as a complete PC.

You'd be surprised. I have a small room half full of old kit which no-one wants and worse it costs a fortune to dispose of. You can't just bin it these days. Admittedly my stuff is old and low-spec compared with yours but the stack's getting bigger all the time.

Shame to bin it, 21 screen is that tft or crt?
Turn it into a media or home server; freenas, windows home server or throw it on gumtree or freecycle.

Local council refuse tips have old electrical equipment areas where you can dump your old things. Just make sure HDDs are blank or damaged beyond repair as they might find themselves being reused.

It's got to be CRT, can't imagine it being at all hard to find a good home for a 21" LCD

Can be a lot of hassle though.

OP: go to a local school, cub/brownie/scout group etc etc, they have regular car-boot/jumble sales to raise funds so should willingly take it off your hands.

Turn it into a NAS to serve files to your other machines? Stick a cheap HDMI graphics card and a cheap wireless card in it, then connect it to the TV in your living room and use it as an HD media centre?

That spec is probably worth about £80 on ebay plus a few quid shipping . Probably easier to chuck it in a skip TBH

Yup, its a TFT.

I also have a smart 2.1 sound system for it too.

I've taken it to two local "We buy old PC's" shops who "only buy sets of 10+ computers from Businesses" and I've telephoned 2 PC charities who also don't want single units.

Its starting to bother me being sat in my tiny office (about 6 months now!!) and TBH, I earn more money in an hour than it'd sell for on freebay or the like, so I really just want it all gone to a good home rather than the local tip.

1st to PM me who will come and collect it all from Cambridge (near Addenbrooks) can have it all for a £20 donation to the Haiti appeal.

The HDD is destroyed so you'll need a new one.

I also have a Logitech Wingman Extreme joystick (with driver cd) and a Logitech Momo racing force feedback steering wheel along with the GTR driving sim and a game called Le Mans which I've never even opened. Both are for PC USB use.

Oh and about 15 Xbox games (I'll throw in the console and 2 MS controllers too) wink

£5 donation to Haiti appeal for each of the above smile

Can't say fairer than that!!

Come and collect asap please!!! smile

My Mum has offered it all to 2 schools and her Church, and my Father has offered it to his Gliding Club, and the local Day centre in Newmarket! banghead

Maybe there is rather a good business opportunity lurking here for someone!!

It used to be called "scrapman".

There is nothing you can do with old PCs. Ironically, in a rush to be environmentally friendly, the tinkers that used to be at our tip are no longer there, and they would scavenge parts that could be re-sold, and parts that just got sold on as scrap. Now, because we're environmentally enlightened, we just scrap every single bit of IT.

Come down to our local tip. Got a great big skip for old IT stuff. Lob it in, and job done. No payment or anything. (But then Kingston Upon Thames does pride itself on having the UK's most expensive council tax).

Original - I'm not THAT loaded!! wink I think the console and controllers are worthless but the games are ok for someone else to use. I was offered £14 by the local Game Station shop for it all, I said no, now I've changed my mind, but it'd cost me about £14 to drive into town and park!! rolleyes

Interesting. Any thing that's non-Intel or Intel compatible ?

I always fancied spending a lot of time watching some old
retro Sun, HP or IBM box doing something interesting.

Maybe if you posted a list, you might get some interest from
folks willing to take some of it off your hands.

lol... it was worth asking! I'd happily come get all the PC stuff off you but for the fact that you're 240miles away!
