The heater in my Mk1 is great (when the engine is warm) but at motorway speed there are a few cold drafts that make it a bit chilly in the cabin.

I was considering attempting to block these off as it would be good to have more roof off and be nice and snug.

Is everyone in the same boat? Anyone sucessfully sorted the problem?

There seems to be more than one draft but I'm definately getting one on the RH cubby hole and just beneath the RH cubby hole - ie all hte drafts are along this edge.

Not had them there.

Although Mrs Beano complained some time ago about the passenger door. When we got the trim off, there's a rubber "curtain" specifically to protect from draughts and I believe these can be "forgotten" about when refitting after any work on the doors/windows/mirrors.

It more from in front of the door than the door - actually where the corner of the cubby hole is on the outside of the car - it that makes sense?

Not 100% how I am going to figure out where it is - prolly just take the bonnet off and have a feel around.

Suprised this is not a common 'fault' though - mine is a 2000 Tuscan so maybe just something with earlier models?

There is the possibility of variable build quality - 'tis true. I think I know where you mean, but it could also be from the door, doorseal or windscreen I suspect? scratchchin And goodness knows where yours has any holes through the bulkhead. I have often commented that they could easily have sat around one day and said "let's route that through there, shall we?" there should be some vents through it anyway though. So make sure you haven't got some little flap that's wide open.

I'd be inclined to take the roof off, crank the heating up and just buy a silly hat. Unless it's really bugging you, life's too short hehe

I get a cold draught round by my feet. If I put my free hand down there while I'm driving (other one on the phone wheel) then there is a heck of a wind. I think it's coming from the peddle box somewhere so need to get that off and block up some holes somewhere.

I found mine gets really drafty at anything over 80mph, seemed to always come from passenger side of car.

Took weeks to track it down as it was intermitant. Finally narrowed it down to the hole under my missus nose, just above her chin.

My old Chimera 500 used to blow a gale in to the passenger footwell. I fixed it by stuffing a scarf up in to the gap behind the dash. So if you know whoe bought a starmist blue Chim500 about 4 years ago Y592NLO then let my know. I'll ask for mine back and they can use their own!
