If I buy a scratch card with a £3000 top prize instead of a £100,000 top prize, does that mean there are more top prizes in that series of scratch cards or is it the same number of top prizes but lots more small prizes?

I buy the odd low prize scratchy in the hope of getting a few grand, but all I ever get is a couple of quid, would this be the same with big prize games but without all the low value prizes?

Does any of this make any sense? wobble

Somebody bought me a scratchcard once, a National Lottery one IIRC, and the odds were printed on the back, I can't remember how it was phrased but what is meant was that of the money paid in, 10% was paid out.

Yes I understand that 10% is returned but I was just curious if anyone knew if the low value prize scratch cards had more top prizes per issue of cards compared to the high value ones.

What I mean is, if I have a target win of £3000, should I buy a card with a £3000 top prize or a £100,000 top prize? Am I more likely to acheive my aim with a £3000 scratch card? Or does it make no difference?

Maybe I should take up Bingo. loser

I can't seem to find the EV of scratch cards anywhere on the 'net. I would imagine that it's appalling but I'm surprised that 10% payout is even legal!

Scratchcards and attitude.

I wonder if we'll make it a full house with tracksuits, Lamberts and Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

Apologies Justayellowbadge, perhaps 'Cockmuncher' was a bit harsh.

I asked a simple question and get called a chav by several posters and gey by another.

Jesus, does no-one here play the Lottery or on-line poker?

Thanks to all those who gave me a serious answer.

No-one called you chav, fella.

Scratchcards, however, most assuredly are. They can be a guilty pleasure every now and then to those of us who walk upright and can breathe with our mouths closed, but it doesn't change the fact.

Don't be so quick to snap.

You've been quiet lately.

'Logistics' for the Haiti effort, I presume?

Got to get them blankies squared away.
