A couple of questions on fuel tanks.
Is there normally a "balance" pipe linking both of the full tanks (standard) to equalize them, if yest where are they?
Does any one know of anyone that does proper fuel cells as the standard ones are a bit vulernable?
Has anyone develope any sort of protection (side intrustion) for the standard fuel tanks?

the problem with linking the tanks with a joining pipe is when you go to fill up, you fill one tank, rush arround to fill the other and by then the fuel from the full tank has drained into the other so you will never have 2 full tanks..
best leave unconnected exept via 1 large fuel pump feeding off 2 tanks at the same time or as per normal 2 tank/pump combinations which you switch over on the dash..

Good thoughts on the fuel tanks. They are vulnerable unless the impact is significantly diminished by the adjoining wheel and center section.
I've never seen anyone add any additional protection to the area nor convert them to a fuel cell.
I fitted a -10 line between tanks to allow filling from one tank only. The additional connection was added about 3/4 of the way up the inside surface of the tank. It allows single side filling but avoids massive weight shifts while cornering. If I needed to do it over I would use a -12 and ship the tanks to Fuel Safe to have them make a bladder for the interior and a removable panel to allow replacing the bladder on a regular basis.
Make sure that you cover the inner aspect of your tanks with reflective insulation. Also make sure that you seal the edges of your tanks to the side pod to prevent stones from being trapped and rubing a hole in the tank.

This is the setup in my sport.
I will remove the central in cabin one and place an extra ATL fuelcell in the RH sill.
As you can see the LHside already has an ATL bladder.
They cost around GBP1200 each. this is for one offs including mold making. More would lower price. I can upload some CAD pictures of the design for the RH side. They hold about 45 liter each. I will protect the bottom and frontside with some alum sheet for impact of sharp objects flying from the frontwheels.
You would give up storagespace, and need to cut a hole in the bottomside of the sill in order to put them in place.

Nice installation however in my LH pod I have my fire extingisher and compressor for the paddle shift system and in the RH I have all my data logger and such (big rewiring job to move it).
That said its given me an idea on cost however is the 1200 GBP each including all the trays / pumps, etc or JUST the bag tanks?

Just one side bag. so 2400 for both, but I just don't like the aluminium fueltanks like the GTR and the one sitting behind the seats in case of the sport.
