Volvo S80 instrument failure

As title says,all of the dashboard clocks speedo,revcounter,fuel gauge and temp gauge not working is this a common fault on the S80's

Its common from what i can gather, just cost my cousin £3oo ish, to get a s80 cluster repaired.
