I heard from a good source last night that Ken Block will be competing in 7 rounds of the WRC this year, with a full entry next year. Could liven the season up!
The same source also told me that Valentino Rossi will be doing a rally at the end of the Moto GP season (next season) as a team mate of Block...

It'll be interesting to see how he gets on in a proper rally, he can certainly spank a car round an airfield but will he be so committed when flying down a narrow, tree lined lane at 120mph?
Ken competes in The Rally America Championship and did the McRae stages last year, so is no newcomer to stage rallying.RT106 said:

Aren't there only about 12 or so WRC drivers anyway?
I'm sure if he was that bad, he wouldn't have a drive. Or is the power of advertising that strong? If so, I'd have thought they'd learned a lesson through watching the steady decline of the WRC over the years in its attempts to become more mainstream and TV friendly.
As others have said he's already done a fair bit of rallying, but I wouldn't expect him to be challenging the leaders too much.
He came down to NZ for a national championship round a year or 2 back, finished in the top 10 I think but well off top pace. That said, Alister McRae contested the same event and didn't do much better - there are some quick drivers in the NZRC.
