Depends how messy it is I suppose. Is it going to be done the morning after an orgy that includes 5 chocolate fountains?

No, nothing too heavy duty - vacuuming 3 rooms, cleaning the bathroom, kitchen & hall and changing the bed.

How often?

I'd aim for £20 if they are coming once a week and you don't live like a Frenchman. £30, maybe, if they are doing laundry and ironing too.

£10 / hr is the going rate I think.

Allow 2 hours for first visit then have them come round 1 hr Monday & 1 hr Friday, so it's clean for the weekend and the beginning of the week.

They'll alternate what is done but always do the major stuff.

Does that £30 include the French Maid outfit?

I pay £20 for 3br house in Lon. That's 2hrs each week. I expect she does it in less than that but I don't mind, she does a good job smile

edit: sorry she just vacuums and cleans bathroom/kitchen. She doesn't do and washing or ironing or extra cleaning.

OP - where are you?

My housekeeper/Nanny does cleaning, at the rates above and use of my car, we could send her round, she's excellent.

North London. She was recommended through a friend of a friend and I have no complaints about her and the fact that she's been vetted, so to speak, is the main reason I employ her.

Think it's a bit steep. But perhaps in line what it costs in London.

Up North it only costs us £20 for the whole house to get cleaned. Carpets hoovered, kitchen & bathroom cleaned (floors too), bins emptied (bathroom's and kitchen's).

In my part of Surrey, cleaners charge £20 an hour.

That's what my parents pay. Don't think I would clean my own house for £7 an hour though!

Is that to accomodate travel or do can they just command that rate?
