Where can I get a new leather gaitor from? I've also seen a couple of cars with a nice silver finishing ring around the hole in the centre console to finish up with the gaitor nicely?

Any of the trimmers like D&C will knock you up a gaitor.

Ive got the metal surround on my gear stick - I think it looks good - think i got it off ebay? £12 or £15 from memory.

I am wondering about the same thing - the leather on my gearstick and handbrake (handbrake especially) is not the best...seems to have gone hard and its difficult to treat/clean.

Pete, the metal surround that I found on ebay is £59! Any link to the one you bought? The gaitors are only 29 for both gearlever and handbrake

There are two or more different types of metal surround.

there was a plain metal one and there is the ebay one which has steering wheel matching counter sunk bolts. I am sure there has been one attempt that wasnt great?

I have the one with the countersunk bolts - it looks like it was probably more than £15, so does tend to suggest that there is more than one type! My gator is also in need of replacement, Prussian blue, any suggestions folks

Mine doesnt have any bolts its just a nice fit around the opening...I prefer it for being a simple plain finish - Each to their own! If I find the info I will post the details later.

Do these rings actually fix the gaitor to the centre console, or are they just a stick-on with no real function?

Some just 'sit' in the hole. The £59 ones are 2 peice and clamp the gaitor in place. (apparently)

that might be worth getting, in conjunction with new gaitor, as they look a bit cr@p when they come unstuck.

The one I have just sits in the hole and, in my opinion, looks good and just looks more finished..?

All I have is a paypal receipt from ebay for £15.50 + £4.50 postage. I've searched ebay for the same description on the receipt and it came up with zip..?

This doesnt really help much though eh..?

Here's another type

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Cerbera-gear-knob-surround_W...

It's the same as the one fitted to my car, it kept moving around and I didn't fancy gluing it down.
In the end I trimmed off 5mm around the base and folded (Very soft Ali) the rest under the small lip between the gator and centre console.

Thats the same as mine - I know what you mean about it moving...I fitted it a few times until I was happy with it.
