Had a rummage around but can't find anything on point so I come to pick everyones' brains again.
Situation - Have a music library on my "server" (Dell Vostro running XP Pro) - this does filesharing to all PCs and runs SqueezeCentre etc.
My music library has two sub directories, Lossless and Lossy. Currently all my Lossless music is ripped via windows media player in wma lossless and stored in there. Mp3 and random other stuff in in the Lossy directory. SqueezeCentre uses these directories and all is well.
Now we add iPods and iTunes into the mix. How do you guys manage your music?
Do you keep separate libraries for iTunes and one for lossless rips for home hi-fi? Do you have the slow and annoying task of ripping everything twice? For iTunes plus songs, how do you extract these for use on your hifi. I tried running iTunes with two libraries but it got confusing as hell as to what was in where, especially when you download something that then goes in the wrong library.
