Last Saturday morning I ordered an iphone 3gs from o2 over the phone. I was told to expect delivery on Monday. By 1630 yesterday I had still not taken delivery of this phone. I phoned 02 to chase and was told the phone had been out of stock, but had just come back in and delivery would now be the next few days. Now I am not too fussed about the phone being a bit delayed, but not being told when it will be delivered is a big inconvenience as I would like to plan for someone to be in to take delivery. I have just checked the status of my order online and it says,

ORDER DATE 10th January 2010 ORDER NUMBER on-0027xxxxx DESCRIPTION Next Day Delivery, iPhone 3G S 16GB Black O2 45 for iPhone 24 month STATUS In Progress

Am I being messed around here? Is this normal? Anyone else know how O2 operate?

I ordered 2x 3GS 16GB black last Monday. 2 hours later they phoned to say they were not in stock, so would be 24 hours late. Arrived at 08:00 Wednesday.

My experience of O2 has been a good one. I assume it's O2 at fault here, not the delivery agent?

I think it must be o2's fault. I have just been on the phone to them, 5 separate calls. So far I have been told, it's on a van and will be delivered today, it wont be delivered for at least 3 days, and it will be delivered tomorrow.
I finally called their retentions dept, first woman I spoke to seemed helpful and said she would transfer me through to their new business manager, she transferred me to their sales dept! I phoned their retentions dept again, this time got a sensible sounding guy who seemed to show more interest. He said he will make some enquiries to find out what is happening and call me back shortly. I shall have to wait and see. So far my impressions of o2 are not that great.

Experiences with these large corporations seems to vary massively.

I had nothing but problems with T-Mobile, but the missus had no issues whatsoever. Prior to that we were with Orange, who I couldn't fault, but she never got particularly good service.

I was messed around just before xmas with an O2 3GS iPhone, and it's subsequent replacement when the screen was found to be knackered on the first.

Both times it was the Courier who was at fault in my case.

First they said they had come to my door but noone was in - I had not left the house all day that day, and even if they did, where was the card they supposedly left for me?
