Hi All.

I'm - ashamed to say it - slightly stumped.

I've a machine on the bench - an Inspiron 5305 - that's got an extra graphics card in. Fine, there's also the onboard graphics so I'm using that whilst I sort out the main problem of freezing at boot.

However, to test it properly, I need to be able to connect to the main graphics and I can't. And haven't got anything in my box of adaptors.

And I haven't a clue what this thing's called to find an adaptor. Can't find anything online that's the same.confused

It looks just like a DVI. The overall shape/size is identical. But rather than a series of pin sockets and then the blade on the far right, it's just pin sockets right across although very similar in style to what you'd expect from a DVI. A DVI>VGA adaptor won't fit because there's no provision for the blade part of the adaptor.

I'm presuming it's a DVI derivative but I can't find anything online, does anyone know what this blasted thing is called so I can order an adaptor?

Bingo!

Give that man a beer

Makes sense. It's a half-height card so not room for two DVI connectors.

I thought I was going mad there for a moment smile

Ta muchly.
