Tvr Wiper Broken

Ok so one of the wipers on the sagaris is broken. Basically it stopped working. The main one works fine but this just tries to work but fails. Although it did for a tiny bit at a different speed to the main one which caused a bit of havoc. Anyway as ireland is an extremly rainy country i need to fix this asap. Theres noone within 200 miles of me whos ever worked on a tvr before. I need to find out what bits i need to fix this and somehow do it. Any ideas what could be wrong? Apparently maybe a spline? Here's some close up pics, obviosuly one bit of it has worn away but what ill need tosort it out is completly over my non mechanical head

Just had the very same problem. Spline at passeneger side sheared on both the wiper arm and the mechanisim.

Matador (?) who manufactured the mechanisim don't do them anymore, so its scrap merchants or TVR Power and the like if you want new.

I bought a 2nd hand mechanisim from Bellshill salvage for £50 inc VAT but not including the motor, so keep hold of that. Its a simple bolt out / bolt in job. New wipers from Leven. Just take your time to align the wipers (I used tie-wraps as 'surrogate' to get the line up correct) and voila!

The arm looks like it has striped its spline, it is likely that the drive left on the mechanism just need cleaning up and removing the aluminium from the drive to reveal a good spline.

Strange in both cases it's the passenger side one... I wonder if it's anything to do with the heat from the manifold, weakening the metal in time or continual expansion/contraction. On my Tuscan vert you can't hold the passenger wiper it gets so hot , see what happens with my ceramic coating.

Thanks a million for the help, i do have the extensive handbook valley but couldnt find too much about that bit So all ill need it the wiper blade? Ill be ok not replacing anything else? I'd be lost without Ph!

Keep the plastic washer tubing off the broken one, they have a habit of melting. Especially if you don't push the heat resistant tubing (which it plugs into) up the spring of the wiper arm.

Its not the wiper blade you need to ask for Funky, but the Arm.
They are different things and if you ask for the blade you'll possibly just get the bit with the rubber blade on it.

My apologies if I'm stating the blindingly obvious and teaching you to suck eggs etc.

No your not actually, its just the kind of mistake id make I emailed power earlier there with that pic just to make sure i do get what i want So that should be it i hope! But without ph it would be a bit of a nightmare
