Spotted a MX5 which looks like a good un...
Its a 1992 Eunos and the seller says it has a Nardi Torino interior, a LSD and is lightweight...
Is it a Special Edition of somesort? and who/what is Nardi Torino?
(p.s i guess a LSD is good thing? were they only fitted to special editions?)
nardi make steering wheels, so i'm guessing if you type nardi torino into google you'll find its a steering wheel...Its a 1992 Eunos and the seller says it has a Nardi Torino interior, a LSD and is lightweight...

most early imports have a basic lsd (unless it is a special edition) which isn't really the best, many have stopped limiting slip now due to their age/use
the early models had the least kit, no braces, smaller brakes etc. so compared to all other mx5's are indeed lightweight
ask if it is a special edition? to me it sounds like a basic model with a leather steering wheel, worded well to sound like more
About 80% of all MX5s seems to be special editions of some sort!
A few MX5s have Nardi Torini steering wheels and some have gearknobs (and handbrakes?) too. I've got a MK 2 S version with a Nardi wheel and I absolutely love it, perfect size for me and really like the way it looks.
Not all MX5s had LSDs but it is worth having. It's a few hundred to retrofit too.
Thinking it might well be a V-Spec, although someone more knowledgeable may have a better idea.

Its the one in the classifieds, isnt it? Red I think?
Its just sales bulls
t. Ignore the 'its an extra special lightweight one'.
Its a pretty normal car to me - cant find the ad now to see what exact model it is but its nothing special.
Nardi is an Italian manufaturer of interior bits, there really nice but quite common. The V-spec had a big wooden wheel and gear knob, the S-spec had a really nice Black leather 3 spoke wheel and leather gear knob. Find them on loads of MX5's.

Yup, V-spec, one of the more common special editions. Nice though, if in good nick. That one looks like a bit of a shed though, and not really worth more than 6 or 700 quid in my opinion given what needs doing.
As for this
ALL IN ALL A WORTHY RESTORATION PROJECT AS THEESE LIMITED EDITION V SPECIALS ARE FECTCHING CLOSE TO £4K IN GOOD CONDITION...
If you bought that car and spent the relevant small fortune and many man hours making it mint, it would be worth £2500 absolute max on a warm sunny day. £4 grand my arse.

- DRIVERS WINDOW NOT WORKING (common problem)
- WINDSCREEN CRACKED ON DRIVERS SIDE,
- DRIVERS SEAT WORN AND ABIT TATTY,
- CLOCK SURROUND ON DASH CRACKED,
- NSF WHEEL BEARING WORN AND STARTING TO MAKE A NOISE,
BODY WORK IN NEED OF ATTENTION AS THERE ARE SEVERAL SCRATCHES AND SMALL DINKS HERE AND THERE..
£££ - depends how far you want to go with it.
ETA: Oh, and in the pictures you can see the hood lowered without unzipping the plastic rear screen. It looks clear in other pictures but I'd want to see the condition of the screen & hood before spending any money on it.

Can be fixed but is it a broken cable, failed motor, dodgy switch... makes a big difference to the repair price.

To be honest none of the MENTIONED issues really bother me..it's going to be a hack no i'm not too bothered about cosmetic stuff.
Are the headlamp covers a different colour? they look matt? Also i had clocked lack of reg plate, i see it is behind the windscreen.
One poster mentioned not paying north of 700 odd quid...that's bang on what i was thinking too!! Going to view it sunday so will report back!
Have a look here to see what decent V-specs can look like.

I've been looking at MX5 MK1s now for ages with a view to buying one (when i finally have some nmoney!) and quite a few i have seen have some colour disparity between body panels, particularly the headlights and front bumper. Does this mean they are replacements or does the paint fade this way in time? It always puts me off a car when i see this, illogical as it is.
The front bumper often fades more than the rest of the car as it's plastic so has different primers. Personally, a car with replacment panels due to a knock wouldn't put me off as long as it's been repaired properly. These are old cars now and there will be quite a few cars with knocks. Solid panels & sills, intact hood and a clean interior are much more important.
Update-
Just been to look at it...
First off the seller is dead straight, the description and pics are spot on.
Cosmetically there are scratches on virtually every panel, nothing horrendous and not really an issue for me. There are a few little rust scabs here and there butn i couldn't see anything nasty. Interior as per pics, drivers seat pretty poor but the rest seem ok.
I won't be buying this car but i will DEFINITELY be buying an MX5 and it will be a V Special...i just love the Racing Greem and tan interior..plus i've always wanted a car with a wooden wheel!!!
