What's Maidenhead like?

Chaps,

Due to some career issues i'm looking at relocating to the Thames Valley area.

There may be an opportunity in Maidenhead, but i note it's pretty close to Slough.

Is it a bit of a hole or is it ok?

Also would be needing somewhere to live, sharing at first then renting once i know the place a bit better.

Any help is appreciated.

Well...

I've having a bit of a crisis in terms of employment and i've done the whole London thing already.

I've got a few things on the go but i'm tired of it up here.

And some of Maidenhead is ok, especially now that TC has moved out!

Luckily you have the Thames keeping most of the oiks out. House prices are typical for the Thames Valley, not too sure about rentals. Plenty to do too, easy travel by car or train into London, and obviously there is the SAS social scene too.
