hi all, does anyone know if the coolant rad in the cerb is unique to cerb or is it borrowed from something else and also how much A/C gas does a cerb take
thanks

It's based on a Range Rover rad, but has a different core. A good Radiator refurb place will be able re-core it for £130 ish.
It varies, 1 - 0.75 Kg. Don't get it re-gassed at somewhere like Kwick fit, a good Air con specialist will know exactly how much to put in.

Gas it with the A/C running and a thermometer in the air vent, slowly add gas until the temperature stops going down.

My Cerb has a TVR lable stuck to F1 panel under the bonnet that says 1kg for A/C.

Shame it can't keep it in!

Just looked and you are not based in the NE but just had my Cerb 4.2 radiator refurbished by a well known, very well thought of local company (Advanced radiators - http://www.adrad.co.uk/) - cost was £200 (inc VAT). Sure you will be able to find someone more local!

The receipt had written on 'Land rover refurb' so I think the standard Cerb radiator is a land rover/rover item but not sure if the fixing brakets, etc are the same?

My research showed alloy rads @ approx. £500, new standard rads @ £350 ish and to get the existing one refurbed was £200 - no brainer really as the mine now looks as good as new (and will presumably work like new too).

TVR parts shop have a reduced price radiator offer of £279 (from £350) but its for later cars...not sure which model your Cerb is..? http://www.racetechdirect.co.uk/tvr-car-parts-subs...

If you want a new one it might be worth giving them a call?

Hope you get sorted.

Unless you are going to evacuate the A/C to remover whatever refrigerant is in there, dont forget it may take a good bit less than 1kg... Personaly I have had great results topping up with pre-mix refrigerant/oil/leak sealer cans.
