Recently my sky+ box has decided not to record programmes, at times it records 10 mins, then the remainder of the programme comes up as a blue screen, and no sound. When you play the recorded programme back though, the blue play back light stays on (the one which goes round and round)

At times when watching a live channel via sky box+ the picture freezes, sound contines, rebooting the sky+ box solves it.

Anyway getting a call out via insurance this Friday, (Thank god I am insured), but the OH asked me if the proximity of my router for my wi-fi to my PC could be affecting it.

It sits on top of the TV stand, so I suppose about 12 inches above the Sky box, now I don't see this affecting it at all, but just thought I would ask. If I don't ask, she will take up the Ariston position, and go on and on and on and on and on and on.......

I might add the router has been there for about 3 months now, and its only recently the Sky box has started playing up. One other thing, the other day, OH tells me she has lost sky altogether, gets home and checks the signal strength, ZILTCH, reboot and 100% strength, this just tells me the box is on its way out.

Yeah pretty sure its got nothing to do with the wifi. Probably more to do with the capacitors that then to go after a while. Classic symptoms are the no signal being received and the picture all broken up or keeps freezing.
Can check out the forums on www.skyuser.co.uk for more info.
