Hello,

I have stumbled across something on eBay that I would absolutely love. The auction has ended however, the seller is not currently selling anything else and the powers that be at eBay towers do not allow me to contact the seller as I have no previous relation to them.

Is there any way I can get in touch? I'm guessing not - I will be keeping an eye on him to see if he lists anything else so that I can contact him through another auction.

Thanks

soad

Don't think you can - have a look at his auctions that ended previously from his feedback, sometimes e-mail/phone numbers can be found there.
Long shot i know.

Were you watching it ? I just did exactly this but I was watching the item, he/she/it hasn't answered though.

I must admit, if I listed something and it didn't sell, then get contacted a week or so later, my Spidey senses would be tingling and I'd be on full scam alert.

Wasn't watching it. The auction is for a car resto, starting price 99p with no reserve. It didn't sell. Would happily give him a quid and let him keep the change smile

It would be ideal as a custom project - an itch that I have been wanting to scratch for a while...

I had something like this a while ago - One day the system wouldnt let me 'Contact Seller' - but a couple of days later it just did!?

So, give it a try another day and see whether you bypass the block in the system somehow.

You are probably right, but this would be a personal collection (as its a car resto). Also, I have 100% feedback, and he has a high feedback too. Risk I am willing to take.

Do an advanced search, type in a keyword that would have been used in the sale, choose 'completed listings' and do the search.

Don't forget to choose 'world wide' location if the sale was not in the UK.

From the resulting list, choose your seller and click on 'ask seller a question'

Bloody hell! Think that's done it! Have a virtual pint from me (and a virtual slap from the OH!)

Will fire them off an email in a bit!

Thanks again!

Thanks, glad to help.

It is also a good way to find the value of something, you can see what similar items have been selling for.

You mean you hadn't done that? I thought ebay must have stopped people contacting sellers recently.

I did that recently when someone listed two items for what I considered an exhorbitant price. Obviously others agreed because both auctions ended without a single bid. I used the 'ask seller a question' facility on one of the listings to suggest that if he listed the items again at a more realistic price, I might well put in a bid.

Still waiting for the reply, mind.

I had gone to the auction and clicked "contact seller" but that did not work.

The recommendation, for some reason, seems to bypass the kack eBay rule.
