Hi Guys,

Been trying to source some final investment for an automotive project i have going at the moment.

Not a huge sum in the car world of £250,000.00.

I have done all the home work, have a dealer network ready to work with me and order once final product on the ground.

I have tried all avenues i can think of ..attended various supposed investor events (pants) travelled to various places to meet potential investors , only to meet scammers and crooks. Spoke to brokers who only want an upfront fee with no guarantee of results etc.

Is there any avenues that any of you good people on PH can suggest.

Thanks
Rob

Where are you based? Have you tried Envestors in London (and now, I think, Manchester)?

I think to brand all the investors you have met "pants....scammers & crooks" suggests to me that maybe your proposal wasn't attractive enough (for whatever reason) and maybe that's why none of the many investors you have met proceeded.

Sadly all decent Angel networks will look for an upfront fee to put you in front of their investors but if the deal is as good as you believe then this should be easily recouped.

Sadly the people i travelled to meet where real crooks, people wishing to launder money etc, so not genuine investors for the right reasons.

My proposal would potentially be weak if it was not for the interest in the product and a dealer network ready to accept it once its ready to start production, but of course what i am offering is not for everyone.

I have no problem with any individual or brokerage/angel network taking a fee for putting me together with the right investor, but i just dont like upfront fee's with no guarantee you will ever get to pitch to any investor. If they are as good as they would like to have me believe then they should be happy to take a reasonable percentage upon completion....just my opinion. :-)

But thanks for the input :-)
