hi all, mainly using mp3 streamed through squeezebox or an ipod dock into amp but was thinking about sorting a few favoure cds out to play. Will the ps3 sound ok playing them?

Should sound better than mp3s or iPod docks. I think the first PS3s were SACD players too, so they can't be that ropey soundwise.

I wouldn't touch the analogue AV out if you are looking for sound quality though, always go with the optical output and let your amp do the analogue conversion.

Will be vastly better ripping the CDs via EAC to flac format and using your Squeezbox for sure.
