Shortened trumpets/plenum insulator, anyone done it.
Discussion
I would say that's my experience - just the JE 45mm trumpets & base, blended inlet manifold, bigger injectors and a remap by MA at Austec (on top of all the mods done previously) power was still rising at 6K, which is where I set the limiter. And that was with what I subsequently discovered was a blowing head gasket. No insulator though.

This in your BV 4.3? What cam are you running, im on a kent h214 which may be a limiting factor, and what power does your make?
Yes, the modified 4.3BV. Cam is the Kent H214, which believe was standard for the 4.3 in TVR's. I'll have a hunt around for the power graphs, but from memory the last 2 RR sessions I had were 295 - 299 bhp and 320 / 325 torques.7.

I run short (but standard diameter) trumpets, 10mm insulator, trumpet base has been shortened to compensate. Does it make a difference? No idea
Bit of bumf on how I did it:

) and the word on the street is that shortened trumpets shift the power band up slightly.
