Further to my last thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

We have a few hours to kill from arriving in Waterloo and our appointment at Great Ormond Street

Was thinking of the NHM, is that suitable for a 3 year old?

Would love to go on the London Eye but its £17 each. Do you need to book on a weekday (next tues)?

Any other suggestions?

I don't want to go too far, 20 mins max by tube to Russell Square.

Thanks

London Aquarium is near Waterloo and cheaper than the Eye (will take longer too).

It's at least one tube change from Waterloo to South Kensington for NHM or Science Museum. Although at least it's a direct Piccadilly train from there. If you want to stay closer to Russell Square the British Museum is just around the corner.

would suggest fishy thingy might be a bit more appealing to a 3 year old, been there and done the entertaining bit when my 2 were babies (many years ago), always found the "interactive" type of activities made life a little less stressful, cant remember if the aquarium has any touchy feely play areas

How about Coram Fields, just around the corner in Guilford Street. The only park in London where adults are only allowed in , if acompanied by a child.
Also, Clint Eastwood is filming around the corner at the Charles Dickens Museum, chance to go star spotting !.

The Science Museum? The i-Max there is quite a spectacle too (pun not intended).

If you travel in by train, you can print off London 2for1 vouchers from http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/ We used them the other day for the London aquarium, you just need to show your train ticket along with the voucher.

+1 I did this as a birthday treat for my son. The descent into the water is better than any log flume.

You could head for Covent Garden. Transport Museam is very good for kids (I'm told)and Covent Garden on the Picadilly Line is 2 stops from Russel Sq.
