Morzine - any tips for me

Hello all
just booked a weeks skiing in Morzine. I am going with my sister. Neither of us are great skiers but we will certainly have a laugh. ANyone got any tips for us - whats it like there?

Morzine is linked to Avoriaz via the Portes du Soliel. I've stayed in Chatel (which is also linked) many a time and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're planning on more apres than ski, then just buy the linked pass or local pass on a daily basis, ie don't waste money on a weekly linked pass unless you are likely to use it fully. Everwhere's expensive out due to the exchange rate, ie 5 quid for a beer. I used to 'take' some bread & cheese from the breakfast cart to have at lunch and just buy a hot drink. In the evening, find out where the locals go to get fed and watered, and consider raiding the euromarch for some wine for later in the evening. Have a good 'un, good conditions there at the mo, but I won't be making the slopes this year. Check out Jet2Ski.com for snow reports and powder alerts.

eta, I got stranded with the ex in Morzine the last time we went. Lower slopes were closed on the ski back, so missed the last lift. No buses, and taxi's as rare as hen's teeth on a sunday. Finally got a taxi, back to Chatel an hour and a half later and 90 euros lighter! But the town looked really nice though!

Nice place, plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes. There's been quite an English invasion over the past 5 years so everyone speaks English now and you'll meet plenty of other Brits. Skiing is good - two main lifts from the town: Pleney for Morzine / Les Gets which is a bit cheaper and smaller then Super Morzine towards Avoriaz and the rest of the Portes Du Soleil.
