Maserati Gransport with genuine mileage?
Discussion
Hopefully you guys might be able to help. I'm looking at a Maserati Gransport and I was wondering how to tell if the mileage is genuine? I presumed it's stored somewhere else on the car i.e. the ECU or something I know for example BMW store the mileage in several different places including the keys.
What else should I be looking for? Are there any main areas I should be checking?

Get somebody to plug in an SD3 and see what the ECU says. What makes you suspicious about the mileage? Buy on condition as much as the stated mileage. What else should I be looking for? Are there any main areas I should be checking?
So it's definitely stored n the ECU then? I don't think this car has been clocked or anything I'm just a being a bit cautious. The main thing that worried me is that the Speedo is an analogue speedo rather than digital and someone could clock it. The car I'm looking at is fairly low mileage 5k so I don't want to pay a premium for a car that turns out to have to a million miles.

About 2 years ago I looked in on Stratstones in Manchester. There was a Gransport with 1500 miles on the clock. The car had obviously done more than that from the state of the interior. Asked the salesman who said it had just come in as a px from another dealer in the group. I left my details and was called a few days later to confirm that the clock had been changed(due to a fault) and it actually had 20k miles on it. They weren't going to sell it for that reason and were sending it on to auction. If this car is a genuine 5k miles it should look brand new. Get it inspected and plug in an SD3 and see what tallys. Many of these cars are 3rd/4th cars so low miles are not too uncommon.
