stalling problem w/ M400 in New York

Had the car 3 years ansd never got a fix!!
Car stalls when slowing quickly [i.e. making a tight turn]
Very frustrating because car does not start easily after that.
Was told by the dealer it has happened before on some other cars and suggested changing the engine m'gmt system!
Anyone know how I can fix?

This is a very common--and easily fixed--problem. It will likely require an appropriate ECU re-flash, though.

there are quite a few ecu maps out there that are defunct... get an oficial dealer to get the latest M400 map (maybe from yellowshed) and have that loaded in.

very unlikely to be an ecu fault IMO so try the latest map first... if it turns out to not be that then dont buy a brand new ecu as I have a spare one that could be tried first (I bought a new one thinking mine was knackered when it was just the map).

Try increasing the idle rpm first. It is best to use the Diagnostic Program and your laptop to do this. You may have a vacuum leak. That usually manifests itself with stalling. Some of the original factory maps were also prone to this, but if you've had the car for 3 years and it hasn't done this before, it is more likely to be that something has happened (like a vacuum leak). Check all of your vacuum hoses carefully for tight connections first. If you have access to a shop with smoke testing capability, have them smoke test it for leaks. Once you have found a leak and fixed it, make sure that you reset the ECU using the Noble Diagnostic program v1.2 with your laptop. This will allow the adaptive mapping to start learning again.

Search the nobleforums.com site for stalling and I'm sure you'll find lots of info there.

P.S. I also found that the car is easier to start after stalling if you actually turn the innition key off and then on again before hitting the start button to start it.

I have an '06 M400
I do not have a current map [or even the original]. I am trying to get a copy from the dealer. So far no luck.
The problem has been from the beginning.
Very frustrating.

You can get a solid, 100% sorted map for the M400 from:

(talk to Hoover). You will have to mail your ECU to them to get the re-flash.

A good place to start, but not a permanent fix IMO.
Remember when (re-)setting idle speed the engine should be fully warmed up (after 5-10 miles of driving) and all the accessories should be powered on (A/C, lights, cooling fans, etc), and, most important of all, the adaptive maps must be reset after an idle speed adjustment.
