A friend invited me out for a day's hunting with his Red Tailed Buzzard. I must admit that I was really looking forward to a nice day "in the country".

Unfortunately, on the morning he weighed her, and she was 4 ounces overweight - so the day was cancelled. Apparently, they will not hunt if they are not "hungry" enough, so our nice day out had to be cancelled. I was gutted.

Has a fat bird ever ruined your day?

I may have just gone blind!

On the bird ruining your day theme though, I used to keep zebra finches in an aviary and a hawk would on occasion try to get to them, highly entertaining watching it trying to get through the perspex roof, used to scare the st out of some of the birds and may well have been the cause of some of them having an early demise.

Brian Plummer (The guy who owned the ferrets that bit Richard Whitely) Owned a Harris Hawk that flew off after he'd fed it too much. Luckily after 3 weeks it came back to the area and was able to lure it down.
Expensive mistake to be made I think.

BTW I was expecting BigTee's new friend's best mate to have turned up lol.

I love the way that picture has just covered her eyes, as though it could be any 35 stone, cake munching mega slob, but seeing her eyes would suddenly identify her.
