A cousin of mine whent through an unfortnuate situation where they lost their job and were made bankrupt.

Now back in employment, they want to get a mobile phone with a contract (ie monthly payment from their bank account).

If they go into any mobile phone shop, they will of course fail the credit test.

Are there place where they can get a contract phone that don't chrge extortionate rates? (Doesn;t have to include a phone, just the sim and the contract would be ok).

Thanks.

Did they not have a contract before they were made bankrupt?

I ask as I was allowed to keep my contract - it was seen as one of the essential bills I had to pay.

She had payg, but is now finding the 10p per text is adding up.

She could switch to a different payg tariff, but a contrcat seemed like a better idea if poss.

I think she's best of switching PAYG tariff/providers

Just get a monthly sim only deal if he is not bother about phones etc.

02 had a very good offer for £20/m.

No contract, and walk away whenever he feels like it.

I will do the same once my Iphone contract needs renewing.

o2 do a 30 day rolling contract (sim only) with very relaxed credit check. Once you have proved you can pay it for (I think it's 3 months) a set period they will let you upgrade to another contract with phone etc.
