Thought i'd share some pics from my first outing to the Mach Loop this year. Some of you may have seen some other photos I'd posted last year. Thought they may be of some interest.

Thanks for looking,

Dave

Excellent shots Dave pin sharp, I must imagine panning something going so fast it quite a job?

Ive been looking at the mack loop shots more and more from the togs on talk photogragphy, some of them are simply breath taking.

What sort of length lens do you need to get anything other than a spec in the distance if you dont mind me asking?

i've been meaning to join that site smile it comes with practice, The first time it came through I completely hashed it but he didnt have his burners on so I wasn't too bothered. I use a Nikkor 70-300mm and theyre shot at about 180mm and slightly cropped into. Too muhc of a risk to shoot with them filling the frame, incase they go out of it! At another location like the Bwlch I find 300mm a bit short until they're coming past you. check out www.lowfly.net for some more info.

Rotate these two 90 degrees CCW and you've nailed it. Great photos.

Really do need to get a decent zoom in the next few months and pay a visit to the area.

Should only be a 3-4 hour drive for me.
