I have been thinking about doing some of the Trailbreak MTB rides this year and have just been looking at the South Downs Way 100 mile enduro in September: http://www.trailbreak.co.uk/lemming/index.php has anyone on PH done this before

I am now seriously considering entering it this year, although I think I will have to improve my overall fitness considerably. I did the start of the South Downs Way from Winchester to QECP last year and really enjoyed it, although I guess the 100 miles will probably kill me smile

I did the Maxx Exposure last year. Similar thing, but at night.

Pretty good event, my first time on the south downs. Nothing too technical, but the distance makes it quite hard.

Trailbreak orginisation was great, but then would expect it given the entry cost.

Sounds good. The only advice I can give is that 100-miles off road is more like 140-miles on road.

Not done the event myself but a group of friends I ride with do this every year, I done it a couple of years back and they start at Eastbourne and work our way back to West Meon and from there drop down back to Fareham where we live, overall its just over 100miles, we stopped off overnight at Washington, my god its the most physical thing I have ever done and I was dead for a few days after but it was such good fun. The guys I do it with have often done the whole route in a day. Definitely one to do if you have the time/fitness.

I have a couple of cycling buddies who do this every year. Quite a challenge (and they like long distance, fast) They really enjoy it but do complain about the organisation. Plenty of people getting lost due to poor route signposts.
