Wedge tyres - 205/60VR15 - what are you using?
Discussion
I am using Continentals all round on my 3.9 motor ....Have done about 3000mls on them finding plenty of grip in the dry dont use it to much in the wet so cant really comment....Nor did i see any body out cornering me at the big wedge meet at the weekend.........Not that we drove like that?
For what they cost try them

I use Yoko A539's. They have lasted about 2000, including a Folembray track weekend last year and MTB trying to eat my rear bumber yesterday, and still enough tread for another few thousand miles. Great grip in the dry, quite progressive in a slide (see profile pic), crap in the wet (relatively speaking).

I now seem to remember having P6000's on the car
when I bought it, and how relieved I was to wear
the rubber off them so I could get some new ones.
B.T.W. I was quoted about £60 each balanced and fitted.
What about these Yoko A539's - are they available
in 60 profile or only 55's, and how much are they?

A bit unusual but I run Uniroyal 540's double the grip and weart rating of the old RE71, quite a soft sidewall but otherwise very impressed with level of grip especially in the wet. And they appear to be lasting well so far up to 4000 miles on 'em and still about 11mm of tread left.

Decisions decisions.
I have also been recommended the Nankang EX601 which
is a VR and very cheap. Tread pattern looks like the
old Yoko AVS as well, but dunno whether the compound is
as grippy. Approx £40 a wheel.
PP SO3's are available in a 55 profile which is
acceptable at £85 each and look like the best you can
get. I'll probably plump for them mail order and get
them fitted by my local garage.

Well I have had the SO3's on for a week now and I'm very pleased with them.
Had to slam on the anchors for an aborted overtake and they certainly slowed me back down OK! Not sure I should be doing that in the running-in period though!
Got them from Blackcircles who are very efficient, and they are on special offer.

So....bringing back a thread from before I even knew PH existed and a TVR was just sumat that other people drove to entertain me & my lads with the sound when we were lucky enough to see one....
Need newies badly. 225/50R15s all round. Cant afford 4 so goin for 2 and theyre goin on the rear.
