Sorry another numberplate question

Bought a lovely griff backend of last year after 3 years in a V8S.
My question is that it has a 3/4 plate on the front and whilst I know they are not legal which everyone is going to say I have answered my own question am I taking a risk keeping it on there.
It looks more pleasing to the eye than a full plate and have read in previous posts about allowing better airflow to the engine so before I go and order a new set as previous owner had his name as logo I thought I would ask if I am asking to be pulled.

I would agree with you that 3/4 sized plates do look much better. I had one on my previous car (Honda S2000) for a year and never got pulled for it. I drove the car every day too.

I am not sure what the implications are if you do get pulled?

I have a 3/4 front plate on mine. Touch wood, I've never been pulled up on it. I have followed patrol cars and passed them going in the opposite direction, even had two traffic police come and admire the car and not mention it. They were more interested in opening the bonnet !!
When I changed the plate from a full size one there was a difference in running temps too.
All I'd advise is to carry a full size plate in the boot just in case you do get pulled, you'll need one for the MOT anyway.
There are quite a few owners running with smaller plates from what I've seen, some even smaller that 3/4 size.

Not necessarily true, unless said BiB was having a really bad day you'd just have to change the plate.

I have one (see pic in profile) and I've had two serving PCs look at it and say it's OK by them, also I was stopped in a ANPR check and neither the operator nor attendant PCs commented.

It is however an MOT fail, so unless you have a friendly MOT tester you need a spare fullsize plate for testing time, which you could carry in the boot in case you get pulled.

Not endorsable.... fine only,although if really in a bad mood they could confiscate your reg and then a whole heap of hassle ensures...... but still no points

Ditto mine in the profile pic. I keep a full sized one in the boot, but I've never had to use it yet. They both attach using velcro

Been pulled twice, albeit on two wheels, and had to have my photo taken next to the offending plate. But on both occasions never fined or endorsed, just got a B******ing.

I also have my front plate attached by large Velcro. Very handy when doing a track day to allow maximum cooling
