18, She looked about 12. And how the hell did one of them end up in the canal. It was an illuminating programme however, gave some insight into what it must be like. The rest of the series should be interesting, was this the first one?

A VERY illuminating well made programme. Communicated far more about what Afganistan is about than our politicians ever seem able.

Shocking to see how Brown's military cutbacks (presumably) has left them without what even we civilians take for granted as we drive around the uk... communication systems that work, gps, etc. furious

Just watched this on ITV player, an excellent programme and well done to all involved. Must have been scary for the 4 newbies left waiting, glad they made it back safely.

Best programme i've seen for ages the one on itv4 has extra bits from the 1st prog.
Most telling is the lack of radio coms and the lack of full night vision kit.
I felt for the 4 young kids including left behind with the struck trucks.
Great prog but they should send winky and his mates out doing a bit of mine clearence.
Cxxx i miss the forces humour cant say sod all in work in case its not pc and some numpty complains

Does ITV player block you if you are outside the UK as BBC player does

Yes.

What I don't get is why UK companies, BBC ITV C4 etc block overseas users claiming copyright issues as the reason. Yet I can watch other countries stuff in UK, so is UK anal about it, or the others don't care or what. Or don't they have the big sales to other TV companies to worry about losing?

Missed this programme, thanks for reminding me and showing it was a good watch. Will have to catch up.

That's Road wars mate, but to be honest, send them to Afghanistan and the place would be tip top in under a week...

Only caught a glimpse of this weeks, agree with you about the couple though, completely bizzare. When she got in the cab of his truck and was in tears because she didn't want him to go infront, because she couldn't bear watching, thinking he was going to be hit by an IED was properly weird. Completely understandable, given the circumstances, but really isn't what I imagined the modern British Army was like!
