Due to current and hopefully soon-to-be-resolved mattress difficulties, I'm currently trying out a £14.95 airbed from The Range. Amazingly, it is equally comfortable as the £400 poncey mattress from Sleepmasters, and if it's too soft, I can put more air in.
However, it does seem to lose a bit of air during the night - nothing as obvious as a leak, it just gradually, well, goes down a bit over a few hours. Is this normal for a 'camping airbed' or defective?

OK, thanks. Looks like there's no point in taking it back for another one then - I shall just have to get up at 4.00am and pump it up a bit. Now if I had Sleepmaster's customer services manager's home phone number, I could share the fun with him live as it happens...
ETA this is a temporary measure for another week or so until the new mattress they eventually let me have turns up.
