C0035/36 Ball joints

On the Racetech website it claims that TVR part numbers C0035 and 36 are the correct ball joints for a TVR V8s. On other websites they are said to fit Griffith and Chimera only. Any one know if they do fit?

Although the top ball joint is a Saab item, and the bottom one is Lada / Fiat there are a few subtle differences with aftermarket items that cause issues that aren't a problem on the original donor car.

Below is an old thread that may give a few pointers to help you understand for the top ball joint.

Similarly the bottom ball joint has a round part sticking out underneath that varies in size betwen various aftermarket manufacturers - I used a Quinton Hazell one and the round bit underneath was a bit big - so I had to file out the hole in the wishbone slightly bigger to accomodate it. Not a major show stopper apart from the fact I had just had my wishbones powder coated

I am pretty sure that the Griff / Chim ones would fit but it might be worth a call to one of the TVR suppliers of aftermarket parts rather then your local factors who haven't a clue when it comes to TVR's.

Further to this subject I have done a lot of digging around and read through a lot of the old posts on this and it seems a variety of parts are still available.

As mentioned C0035 and 36 are available from TVR car parts dealers but are expensive. Quinton Hazell parts QSJ1004s and QSJ765S, I have actually brought the QH top ball joint and as previously stated it will fit with a bit of fettling to get full adjustment. But I have also been informed by local motor factors that Falcon and First line who are competitors of QH do an exact copy of the lower ball joint. Falcon part no is SJ572 and costs £18.99, the First Line part no is FBJ5068 and only costs £9.99 (seems a bargain). Here comes the question, does anybody know if these replacement lower ball joints have the full range of movement seen in the original part?

I Believe the Fast Line are supplied by some of the TVR specialists, but assume nothing/check everything. Or just bite the bullet and pay specialist prices

I've got one coming from clever trevor costing £24 ish. I have also got the 3mm spacers. The BJ is a C0035.

Are they easy to fit anyone?

I actually fitted the First Line bottom ball joints and they appear to be working fine. I had the Geometry set up at Topgear Automotive and handling is excellent.

You can also obtain top ball joints and track rod ends from First Line.
