Ref LM Classic - Hotels enroute any ideas ??

We will be catching the Thursday afternoon ferry/tunnel, can anyone suggest a good hotel enroute (looking do drive for about 1 to 2 hours in France then continue journey next day) to stay at ? Prefer Something old, Character, good hospitality/food etc and secure/safe parking.

I would take a look in Rouen then, it's probably about half way

Not sure if it's a bit far for you but I'd thoroughly recommend Honfleur

There are some great hotels on the outskirts of Rouen. google the tourist information in Rouen they have a very good list, used this on the way back from the classic in 06 and wasnt dissapointed either.

Thanks - was thinking along the same lines, havent been to honfleur in years so quite tempted even if a little off the route, just wondered if anyone had a 'specific' hotel they use that they could recommend, will go to work on google now...

Crafty just done some searching back and below is the link to the hotel we used in 06.
It is a beautiful olde worlde place lovely village in the forest, bistro bar and superb restauarant nearby, secure parking and undercover if you need it, we had 3 cobs there overnight with no roofs, car park is at the rear behind very solid gates etc, couldnt fault it, take a look at the link below.

We haven't stayed at that hotel but have stayed in Lyons-la-Forêt, very nice.
