Driving down the A12 today at a steady 80mph, I spotted a 'Safety Camera Van'. Nothing unusual in that you might think as they infest the roads now, except this van was not hiding in a layby or on a bridge, it was in the outside lane going a fair bit faster than me. The driver was not wearing a uniform. What emergency do you think he was on the way to? Hypocritical b@stards.

No time, by the time I had found a pencil and paper and caught up he was on the A120 slip road.

Next time take their reg number and report them. Nothing may happen but atleast there is a passing chance someone will get a bollocking.

I overtook a cam van that was speeding and gave it the coffee beans right into the screen & tapped my detector. Roared off too. If they can speed, so can I. This of course was in a previous life, and I couldn't tell you where in Essex it was, except lots of people go there on a Saturday night.

Did you know that under this new constitution thing Blair and his cronies are trying to lie us into the Police will no longer have to hold themselves accountable to the public, in effect we will not be able to complain, just think how that dickhead who runs Wales plods would behave... no to mention TVP

I heard from a few friend that there was a tax camera on the Langham A12 bridge the other day, and there's always a scamera by Kent Blaxhill in Clodchester, but PLEASE don say they're going to start putting speed cameras on the A12!
It's chock full of numpties as it is without having to keep your eyes skyward looking for the plod!

A helpful tip I picked up from somewhere...........if you need to write soemthing down in the car (phone/reg number etc) & don't have a pen, write it on one of the windows with your finger. Although you won't be able to see it immediately, a few blasts of hot breath will mist the glass up, enabling you to see what you've written.

I thank you.

That was in Johnny and the Dead by T Pratchett, when some naughty persons were attempting to bulldoze the cemetery in the dead of night so that it couldn't be saved. Wobbler said, "I dint have a pen so I huffed on the window and wrote it in the huff! [...] Right in the huff, look!"

Remembered because this is one of my favourite Pratchett quotes, for some reason...

Oh sorry, ought to add something on-topic.

We were tailgated at 70 mph on the A412 by a scamera van a few weeks ago. We were overtaking slower cars at the time, but matey in his van decided he wanted to go past at any cost and drove a couple of feet off out back bumper until the road was clear enough for us to move over to the left lane.

...in the boot of our car. No thanks!!

Nope, we stuck rigidly to 70 mph, no more, no less, and waited to see whether they'd explode with the frustration of not being able to get past.

They didn't.

BTW, if you haven't read Johnny and the Dead, give it a go - it's excellent!
