GTM Bonnets may be scrapped or sold

In the business centre where I work in the Loughborough area, as I walked past and the door was open I noticed in one of the adjoining units a couple of GTM bonnets leaning against the wall.
I was curious so I popped my head in and asked what they were doing in a business unit and was told they are a graphics producing company and they had been using them to demo graphics but were about to bin them.

It seemed a shame but as soon as I showed interest in finding them a home they said they might ebay them or sell them.t

They did tell me they were imperfect but I didn't look close enough to check them out.

Don't know GTM's well enough to identify them but had light pods with 3 holes a bit like a TVR Chim modification as in this profile pic http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?h=0...

I figures it was tounge in cheek but there was no smilie.

No idea at all what he was looking for. I suspect they owe him nothing but they will have limited value as they are 'seconds' but may be useful if they can be brought up to standard cheaper than buying a perfect one.

I'll try and get more info on Monday if he's there.

Most of what I say is tongue in cheek, on a serious note it's a nightmare getting parts and would be a real shame if they scrapped them..

Nobody working today but the bonnets are still there.

I'll keep checking as I know they are moving out and don't want to miss them.

Anybody want to give some idea what they're likely to be worth. I won't tell him but if I can get them for a song you're welcome to them at that price IYSWIM.

I think last time I heard I think GTM were charging in the region of £600 for a front clam.

I want one to play about with, so I wouldn't want to anything like that. I guess somewhere up to £100. They of course would be worth more to someone who wanted one in whatever colour they are.

The office was in darkness again yesterday so I spoke to receptionist of the building and asked when they are moving out and she told me they'd gone. Finished emptying the place on Monday evening.

I had a look through the small window in the door and sure enough everything is gone including the bonnets.

I have asked the receptionist to try and get in touch with them and let them have my details but it might be an idea to keep an eye on ebay.

I'll let you know if any developments.
