Are you talking about the old adaptall manual one or a newer automatic?

I have a couple of tamron AD2 lenses and they are very good.

I've had the odd Tamron over the years - 300mm f/5.6 and 500mm f/8. Surprisingly good for old glass. Both were bought tatty and stayed that way hehe

Don't know much about the newer Tamrons, although the macros get rave reviews all round!

So did you purchase for its macro ability? How close does it go? And are they designed as an all-rounder or pretty much macro-focussed (if you'll excuse the obvious pun!)?

OK, thats an adaptall and a canon adapter. I've got one and I think its pretty good.
Now you've got an adapter you need to buy more lenses (obviously!)

the 90mm is legendary (I don't have one of those). The 300s have a very good name. Basically tamron made a pretty good range.

I'd have to go find something, but if I wanted to see a couple of images from a manual lens I would look here - the sample gallery at mflenses:

http://www.mflenses.org/gallery/v/japenese/Tamron/...

I think the rules for the samples are that the images are not sharpened.

Well they give you a feel for colour/depth of field/sharpness/contrast even if they aren't great artistic shots.

What sort of things are you looking for and I'll see if I haev anything that is likely to appeal to you.

Remember that this is a £10 lens as well though.

(I paid 99p for mine plus £5 postage although it did need taking apart and cleaning/fungus&dust removing)
