I am considering buying a private Griff but as it's my 1st TVR I want to have it checked over by a specialist or TVR dealer. Can anyone recommend someone in the east midlands (northampton/leicester)area and how much it should cost ? (i think TMS melton mowbray is my nearest dealer)

Thanks

Francis

Rob Ingleby will do a very thorough inspection, HPI check and valuation of any vehicle you have found and put it all in a report for about £200.

Money well spent IMHO, as something missed by someone not 'in the know' could be potetially very expensive.

I used his services and was very pleased with the results.

21 months - jeepers!
Haven't tried Rob but he crops up a lot on PH and seems very well respected. For myself I went the Club route and saw some, asked the owners what to look for etc. After a while you get a feeling for the breed: I guess I like doing things my way. Bought three TVRs so far and no problems to speak of.

Rob's your man for a one off check, or for a larger fee he'll source a car for you and only recommend those he would buy himself.

James Agger also top bloke, don't know whether he offers an inspection service or not... has a very nice wife too

Bought my TVR Griff on a whim without proper research as to costs, models, engine sizes etc. Although love it dearly, I could have easily got a better one for similar money and in the long run mine will cost me more I am certain. So IMHO look at lots before making a choice and any expert advice is def worthwhile.
However, don't be without one for too long!
