Hi all,

Downloaded the latest itunes and iphone software updates yesterday.

Once the iphone updated had completed it started installing and then said that an error had occured.

Iphone has now frozen on a screen which shows a cable pointing towards a disk saying iTunes.

When plugging in to the laptop the iphone is now not recognised. everytime i plug it in it comes up with the found new hardware wizard but it doesnt work!

I tried reinstalling itunes and itunes didnt work properly - now when i turn it on it says that i need to reinstall if i want to import or burn a cd/dvd!

I think that the drivers for the phone must be missing so did a search online and downloaded the rdriver and put it in C:/windows/system32/drivers but this had no affect. also copied the driver in to C:/windows/inf

Anyone know how i can fix this - very annoying...

Woza.

Have you tried resetting the iPhone by holding the power button and the home button together until it reboots?

Yep, just does the same thing. Brings up the white apple and then the same screen with the cable and the cd?

Very frustrating

Try rebooting the phone, then turn it off & take the SIM out, turn it back on, reboot it, turn it off, put the SIM back in, turn it back on & reboot again.

Worked for me wink

My business partners phone did this when the internet went down halfway through the last update. He ended up going to the Apple shop in the Trafford centre where they were able to fix it while he waited.

managed to fix it by downloading itunes on another computer and plugging it in that way - restored the whole phone and lost absolutely everythig.

I think its shocking how the phone relies so heavily on itunes working properly!

sort it out apple!

I would try it on the original pc then do a restore. All your stuff 'should' be put back on.
