Mulsanne Camping Le Mans 2010

Hi!
I have never been to the race before and am currently weighing up whether to book camping tickets for Mulsanne this year (tending towards this choice) or alternatively Houx Annexe or Beausejour? Mulsanne seems fairly isolated from all the other sites but I quite fancy that in a strange way - what is the atmosphere like here - anyone have any first hand experience?
As for Houx Annexe, I have heard that this site would be the party animal's choice but not sure, again any details of this campsite would be appreciated!
I know Beausejour is a very large site and does not have allocated camping pitches, but have read some horror stories about pikey's stealing belongings and even keying cars etc.?

All I will say is if you are looking at going this year book ASAP. i've booked a few months ago as do many on here. the later you leave it, you will have less choice, it wil cost more and you may not be able to book anything such as ferrys and such like. Houx Annexe I found was fine, just take ear plugs

I love Mulsanne but it is not for everyone, the major drawback being access to other parts of the circuit. On foot you are effectively limited to the Mulsanne enclosure (although you can get to other parts with a bit of exploring) It is a good spot to watch from and supported by a big screen and radio le mans coverage but I can see that some might get a bit tired of one corner for a whole weekend!
The atmosphere is relaxed as it is away from the crowds of the general enclosure. Only a 2 minute walk into Mulsanne village where there are a couple of bars and the big champion supermarket. Great fun to pitch your tent only 40 feet from the circuit!
Its a great place to spend a chilled out weekend but only if you are willing/want to be away from the hub of the circuit.

Thanks for the info - pretty much what I thought really. previously we have stayed at a friends who lives two minutes from mulsanne, but this year due to the number in our group we are camping at mulsanne to. handy for shops and not too bad a drive to the main part of the circuit. also drove to arnage on sat night, wouldnt attempt it off my own back so glad we had my mates direction. glad to hear another pistonhead will be in residence
