How strong are the strap attachments on the D90?
Discussion
I have an R-Strap but as it connects via the tripod mount on the base of the camera it means no strap if I am out using a tripod. I was considering using the ring from a keyring and threading that through the metal strap "eye" on the side of my D90 then attaching the R-Strap to that, but I am worried if it will be strong enough as the weight of the camera will be more focused on one point rather than spread out.
If that makes any sense!??

Real pro's don't use straps; they get in the way
Then they have an assistant to hold it for them for the rest of the time. I'm certainly not going to hand-hold a DSLR, 70-200 f2.8, flashbracket and SB800 for nine hours (and put it down on gravel everytime I want to change the lens or batteries)Edited by Simpo Two on Monday 8th February 10:08
