Apparently the number plate on my Elise (the red one) is assigned to a Honda motorbike on the system (also red!). WTF? confused I'll raise this with DVLA tomorrow.

They were checking out the car park for stolen cars as TWOC'ers use it as a dumping ground sometimes according to plod. My current two Elise parked side by side aroused suspicion! laugh

And there I was thinking they'd finally caught up with me whistle

A couple of years ago I put the reg number of my company car (BMW 120d 'M' Sport) into AskMid. Said the car was a ford van!!! I just let the lease company deal with it!

Good point! Hadn't thought of that. Maybe I shouldn't ask the DVLA scratchchin

Its quite like a motorbike in that it only really has a rear plate. Front one is so low it is probably invisible to SPECS. Not that I have tested this wink

Called the DVLA. Perhaps unsurprisingly they do not think anything is a miss. They did issue the V5 that matches my car after all! Explained what the coppers said but DVLA says all looks ok on their system. Hopefully just a glitch for the cops. Weird.

Does that mean the insurance value will be higher?

Nope, that's still going to be depressingly low when I consider the pile of invoices I have for that car. They're basically comparing a 150,000 mile car with mine. Even though my car had new suspension (everything) in the last 18 months and an engine that had done less than 1000 miles with a new head etc. etc.

I think I've got to the point where I'm just going to give up as it's winding me up so much I'm not sure it's worth the hassle.
