Bought this in October to replace my Skyline its a 1998 Evo 6 , only slightly modified its got around 300hp/300ft lbs at the wheels (est 360-380 flywheel) since buying it i've been busy 
When i first bought it
Since October I've
Replaced the wheels with silver ones
Fitted Eibach progreesive springs
Rebuilt the brakes ....twice
Serviced it
Fitted a Whiteline rear anti roll bar
Removed the tank and fuel filler pipe and removed any rust
Cleaned the underside and painted then undersealed it
Fitted HID lamps
Fitted blue led bulbs to dash to match gauges
Fitted a Kenwood head unit , Vibe amp component speakers and Vibe subwoofer
Removed the stickers and front window tints
Replaced the number plates
Wet vacced and steam cleaned the interior
Had the alignment and suspension set up properly
Took some pics today but it still hasnt had a good clean on the outside as yet

ETA: Were you lucky with the tax?? PLG (£215) or CO2 (£400)?
Isn't there a change in the offing on the tax for pre 2001 cars, as you say it depended on what day it was suv'd whether it came out with the 215 or 400 charge. I know what you mean about the grip, it just keeps on going "more!, more!"

My eldest nipper has a 99 6 on the 400 and is expecting a change in April back down to 215
Always fancied myself an Evo 5 or 6 when I'm older/can afford it. Fitting number plate too!

An old work colleague bought one new back in the day and he used to get something like 120 miles per tank
I was lucky enough to get a drive of it and I remember the steering being so full of feel and direct; like a Lotus Elise but with 4 doors.

Mine will do 23mpg if driven normally , around 250 miles per tank it was mapped last year , its a little better on fuel than my Skyline was but they arent really geared for economy its sitting at around 4000rpm at motorway cruising speeds
Fuel gauge is hopeless though total waste of time due to shape of the tank goes anywhere from 1/4 to 3/4's so you have to refill on the trip meter

If you've got PLG on your V5, the tax will be on the cheaper (pre 2001) amount, but if it's got a CO2 rating, it will be the higher.
The direct.gov website used to say somthing along the lines of "first registered before/after 2001" mentioning nothing about the UK, but now it says "Vehicle tax will be payable in line with the vehicle’s first registration date in the UK. If the vehicle has been previously registered abroad, the date it's first registered in the UK will determine the amount of vehicle tax that’s payable." which is a bit of a nightmare for some owners. There are even some Evo IX (2005>) owners who are paying the pre 2001 prices.
Had a bit of a boost issue so the car was remapped and dyno'ed , and we found the boost was all over the place the stock ecu wasnt coping so a Gizzmo boost controller has been fitted so the boost should be nice and stable now
My mapper will check it next weekend and then I will re-dyno it , should pick up 10hp or so and maybe 40ft lb

I have someone else closer to me but want to take it back to that dyno , I can feel the torque is stronger already but I'm not going after big hp , just want strong midrange so might get Mark to fit some different cams for me , I've spoken to him about it already but got some other bits to fit first
