360 airboxes

Anyone got an opinion on chrome plating the 2 airboxes on my 360. I dont want it to look naff, or should I spray them to match the engine manifolds(red)How much would it cost to chrome them and where could i get it done. I do travel all over so any where you can recommend would be useful. On another matter, only 6 weeks until the SORN comes off and i will be on the road for spring and summer.

Frankly, I think both will look all wrong.
I'd get both in carbon fiber

I know someone who removed the black paint from their airboxes and just polished up the aluminium, it looked nice. I was going to do the same to mine but had them sprayed crinkle/crackle finish red and they look good. Apologies for the crap camera phone pic:

Personally I think chrome would look far too chavy. Maybe satin black or as previously stated crackle red to match the engine covers.

He likes to use the Colin Lingus tag. Plus he has a 997 turbo that he keeps going on about.

Banned on both Pistonheads and Club Scuderia for causing trouble. Surfaces now and again, but tends to get found out as it's almost impossible for him to hide how much of a ttt he is.

This made me laugh .... I don't know what this chap has done in the past, but his post seemed reasonable and looking back at his posting history on here appears to be a genuine PH'er. Hope you have the right man ... equally if the so-called troublemaker 'well spotted'.

As for the original topic, I don't personally like the red ones, chrome would not look right and in that area the heat may discolour thereby defeating the objective.

See this link - don't know what they are like, but sure I had seen some carbon ones for less than that ... at £400 these seem quite reasonable from first glance.

I might be wrong but these look like actual lids that are just 'put on top' of the original boxes if you like? I can't quite work out from the description if they are actual replacement boxes.. anyone?
