About time for a brand new cerbera gathering??
Discussion
Ceburgring, Spa, C.R.E.A.M etc . . . these are brilliant Cerbera events, but I want to organise a new one!
Personally, I would have the event being more than turning up to a venue, then buying a donkey burger and walking around for three hours before beginning the massive trek home that it took to get there. However I wouldnt want to exclude it from an overall cerbera event - just not so that - that is the whole event.
I was thinking of something more like Cerburgring where Cerbs travel together on some amazing driving roads and then go on a legendary track. Also, it is possible for the trip to be relatively cheap . . . compared to some other organised driving packages! So, how about bringing it closer to home? how about doing a trip to the Isle of Man - gatecrash the TT or have a track day at Castle Coombe solely devoted to cerbs or even . . . try and make an appearance at goodwood festival of speed and bring along the big red nasty 'BHG' for a special appearance

Im just throwing a few ideas around but basically, with tvr events, the griffs have their growl, the wedges have their big bad wedge fest and the chimeara's, tuscans, sags, and the rest of us basically shunted in the corner :P
Lets bring our cerbera out of the garage, out of hiding - join in our masses and for the love of god, Lets make some noise! Cus thats what cerberas do best.
Suggest some ideas, express your interest.
Many Thanks

A cerb event would be excellent. I think there was a thread 4-5 weeks ago as well but without the offer of an organiser.
I doubt you can please everyone, but it may be easiest to piggy-back on something else such as a Tuscan Challenge day or the like, or like we did with S Club 8, some other car event.

The 5 Cerb events I've attended have all been brilliant. They have all (with the possible exception of CREAM) been track based and have all (without exception) been attended by warm, fun-loving, sometimes gifted petrolheads.
I would certainly support another along the same lines even if it ended up in the UK.
Just to stick a suggestion out there to see if it raises any interest (The organisation of which could fall into a thousand bottomless pits so I'm, just testing the water for interest here)
Goodyear have a test track in the north of Lux and it is on the same site as a government-run "driver improvement course".
A possible suggestion would be:-
Day 1. Cross Channel and Drive to Lux: Lux is four hours by road if you stick to the speed limits. If you stick a decent lunch in somewhere along the line it'll still only take six hours.
Stay in Lux city centre on 1st night. resto and Hotel to be organised.
Day 2. Do a selection of tourist visits to (up-to) 7 of the Castles that adorn the rolling countryside. Evening dinner in flash castle-bound restaurant and stay over.
Day 3. Do the "Driver improvement course" in the north in the morning. Do the Goodyear Test Track in the afternoon (untimed). Return to Lux city for the evening meal/Hotel.
Day 4: Tank up (Lux has the cheapest petrol and fags in Europe) and return trip home.
Lux has quite a reasonable shopping centre for peeps who are not interested in the driving aspect. It also has a thousand 'late nite' clubs for the review of alternative suspension set-ups.
Optional Day could be to :-
Spa (1.5 Hrs away) Has to be coordinated with a Track Hire company
Hockenheim (2.5 hrs away) has to be coordinated with fixed public access times
Nurburgring (1.5 Hrs away) is a miracle if you can get on the track 8-S
As I say, just a suggestion, but if there is sufficient interest I might try and make a few calls for access possibilities and prices. If not then count me in for other Cerb-based trips.

New Cerbera owner + new house looming = UK only (this year anyway)
Where you moving to? I got a lift from Kev yesterday, back from Raceproved. We drove back through Holmesfield area. Kev pointed out to me where many TVR owners live. I didnt know so many of you live so close to me (Curbar)!!! FarmyardPants said:

Put forward a great idea.
Now that a willing organiser has stepped forward it is of to Lux we go.

When are we going?
Weekdays: 158,90€
Week-ends: 175,50€
Still interested ???
Here's the link to the course. Won't bother ringing Goodyear until there are at least 10 takers.
As you know the number of participants/nutters over the last Cerb sorties has varied a lot so no point getting a quote for 4 places at the moment.
Timing
Just before or after Summer Hols sounds best depending on your budgets ??
I'm off to Le Mans Classic so 9-11 July is out.
Any other thoughts ?
;o)

Erm, that would have been me starting that one then....

I was hoping there may be enough interest in a Cerb event, perhaps tagging onto another event, and I'd deffo be interested if it included some "spirited driving"

Would be very interested in performance driving tuition, wet grip day (did 1/2 day wet grip then 1/2 day track day at Rockingham last year - great fun), track day, or a hoon to somewhere with good hopefully quiet roads (e.g. Wales, Scotland) - possibly over t'water but would depend on trying to squeeze it into a weekend / long weekend...... (need to stock up on brownie points....)
As for an event with standing arround chewing the fat in a field with shiny cars, well, Chatsworth covers that one...... 676 TVRs all in the same place? Yup!
Ive always wanted to blast the Cerb round the Isle of Man TT course,,,,,,, its just a thought, but recon it would make a good 2 day trip, and not so expensive.
Day 1
Meet at Sheffield, drive through the Yorkshire dales ( Gods country) via the Butter tubs pass, into and through Cumbria.
catch the ferry to the Isle of Man, do a few laps of the TT.
Find a B&B for the night and have a few beers etc..
Day 2
Do a few more laps of the TT, have sum lunch, then go home
but like i said, its just a thought

Personally, that would get my vote - as its still a driving trip that covers some brilliant roads, it will be a laugh with all the cerb guys together and it will be relatively cheap. Day 1

I personaly would not do a track day in my car, a set of pads and tyres and the possibility of stuffing it just aint worth it in my book. Would love to do it in somebody elses car though
