Lost bag with Emirates from New Zealand

Returned from new Zealand yesterday, almost 30 hours on the plane. Got to birmingham Airport, waited an 40 minutes for bagage to come through, 2 bags arrived one didn't. 90 Minutes by this time. I went to the baggage enquiry desk to explain that a bag of mine was missing, gave them the receipt number, the girl put it in the computer and said 'Oh its still in Dubai, failed to make the plane'

Small rant. Emirates obviously knew that my bag didnt make the plane though god know how as they where all loaded together in Auckland. Emirates knew my name, what seat i was sitting in, all this information came from the bag id number. Why oh why didnt they tell me that my bag was in Dubai instes of letting me stand there like an idiot for 50 minutes. At6 baggage enquities there was a line of other disgruntled Emirates passengers waiting and having the same problem. I cant beleive that in these daqys of communication they could not have told us.

They want you to wait around until the vast majority of passengers have gone home, before you have your rant. Having people ranting on an aircraft tends to upset other passengers.
It happens. Hopefully, you'll get your bag soon.

Happend to me coming back from Maui, I asked in LA of the bags had been transferred and was told they had - got the Heathrow and my kitesrfing gear was missing. I was told it was on the next flight due to land in 10 hours.

They couriered it down to me (Bournemouth) when it arrived - so no problem really...

Bag arrived last night, in a taxi. We live about an hour away from birmingham airport. what a waste of money and time.
