Or it might be my connection, or my Xbox.

When I try to search for a game, it freezes. The music is still playing and the symbols are spinning, but I can't press any buttons- like create a class or barracks or anything. I have to press the Xbox button and turn the console off.

Is it my disc?

I will do. I'm just trying a different game to see if it still happens.

Try installing it to the HDD, solves a lot of these kind of issues and is usually faster to load (and quieter).

Mine has started doing this recently! Just doesn't work and then freezes. (The disc is in perfect condition)

I've given up on MW2 all together, back to Forza 3 and the bad company 2 demo biggrin

Below the game title in 'My XBox' there should be a selection for 'Game details'. If you select this you then get an option to 'Install to hard drive'.

Takes a few mins, but worth it for games you play a lot or spend lots of time loading from the CD.

And if the disc is too knackered to do that just borrow a friends to install and then use yours as the run disc.

Have you checked it for the dreaded ring around the disc like these below?
My Bad Company discs looks like this so installed my brothers to the HDD and use mine as a run disc and it works fine.

I do it with all games I play a lot, it's so much better, if only for the reduced noise from the DVD drive. They also load faster and it the games just seem to run better generally.

Sorted now. I just reset my wireless router, and it's all good!
